Bank of America Starts Making LaSalle Bank Changes in Chicago

CHICAGO – The 2007 buyout of Chicago-based LaSalle Bank will become all the more visible on Monday as the familiar green and yellow signs come down and are replaced with Bank of America’s blue and red logo.

Liam McGee – Bank of America’s president of global consumer and small business banking – on Monday told the Associated Press that customers will now have access to most of the bank’s products and services.

“They are going to experience the Bank of America brand first and foremost with only a very few exceptions,” McGee said in the AP interview. “They are going to see Bank of American signs throughout the former LaSalle Bank franchise. Those red signs will be very evident in Chicago.”

Since the buyout, Bank of America has slowly transitioned customers from the LaSalle Bank brand to that of Bank of America. Starting in Oct. 2007, customers from both banks had access to 18,500 ATMs. LaSalle customers will receive new Bank of America-branded debit and ATM cards in the near future. McGee says the full transition will be completed later in 2008.
