Dance Film ‘Make it Happen’ to Begin Chicago Filming in August


The dance film “Make it Happen” will begin filming in Chicago in Aug. 2007. It stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (from “Live Free or Die Hard,” “Grindhouse” and “Bobby”).

The film is written by Duane Adler (who also wrote “Save the Last Dance”). Principle photography begins on Aug. 7, according to The Mayhem Project. Mayhem says the following about the film:

This movie is in the vein of “Flashdance” and is about a small-town girl who moves to Chicago with dreams of becoming a dancer.

2008 Film ‘Wanted’ With Angelina Jolie Filming Select Scenes in Chicago


At this point, I’d venture to say few people are familiar with the upcoming film “Wanted” with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. Today, I just realized from a reader note that the project is filming select scenes in Chicago.

The film is currently scheduled to be released in the U.S. on March 28, 2008.

Updated Street Closures For ‘The Dark Knight’ Filming in Chicago


An anonymous reader has alerted me to this updated “The Dark Knight” filming information from the Illinois State Police.

Filming of “The Dark Knight” continues on Lower Wacker Drive the nights of Wednesday, July 18 through Sunday, July 22. The street closures are as follows:

July 18 to 20, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Lower Wacker (Harrison to Michigan)
July 21, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Lower Michigan (Wacker to South Water)
July 22, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., lowest level of Randolph and Columbus

Web Site Launched For ‘The Dark Knight’ Paid Casting Calls


Though it’s not pretty, the point is there.

A Web site has launched to help extras get in on the casting call action for “The Dark Knight”. The site references “Rory’s First Kiss,” which of course is the shooting title for “The Dark Knight”.

Detailed Information Released on This Week’s ‘The Dark Knight’ Street Closures


At 10:40 a.m. this morning, a reader sent me detailed information about Chicago street closures this week resulting from “The Dark Knight” filming.


2006 Film Services, Inc. will be filming scenes for [“The Dark Knight”] on Upper and Lower Wacker beginning Wednesday, July 11 and continuing through Sunday, July 2. Prior to filming, members of our crew will be prepping the area with set dressing and lighting equipment.

With the assistance of the Chicago Police Department, we will be staging nighttime street closures Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15.

Please know that we will make every effort to accommodate local delivery and pick-up traffic, handicap transportation and other essential services. Traffic will be held in the following areas and times:

On Wednesday, July 11

  • Upper Wacker (from Van Buren to Adams) from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Van Buren St. (from Franklin to Clinton) from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Lower Wacker (from Harrison to Michigan) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On Thursday, July 12

  • Upper Wacker (from Van Buren to Madison) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Van Buren St. (from Franklin to Clinton) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Monroe (from River to Franklin) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Jackson (from Canal to Franklin) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Adams (from Canal to Franklin) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Lower Wacker (from Harrison to Michigan) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.


On Friday, July 13

  • Upper Wacker (from Van Buren to Adams) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Jackson (from Canal to Franklin) 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Lower Wacker (from Harrison to Michigan) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.


On Saturday, July 14

  • Upper Wacker (from Van Buren to Adams) 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Jackson (from Canal to Franklin) 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Lower Wacker (from Harrison to Michigan) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.


On Sunday, July 15

  • Upper Wacker (from Van Buren to Adams) 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Jackson (from Canal to Franklin) 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Lower Wacker (from Harrison to Michigan) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

In addition, we will be holding parking on the following streets on all of the above dates:

  • East side of Canal (Van Buren to Congress)
  • Both sides of Franklin (Madison to Jackson)
  • South side of Madison (Wacker to Franklin)
  • Both sides of Lake (Franklin to LaSalle)
  • Both sides of Franklin (Wacker to Randolph)
  • Both sides of Post Pl. (Lake to Lower Wacker)
